Dynamic Youth Awards & Youth Achievement Awards
Dynamic Youth Awards (DYA) aim to encourage young people aged 10-14yrs in becoming involved in activities and then peer assess each other’s achievements.
The project also offers young people aged over 14yrs the opportunity to participate in the Youth Achievement Award (YAA) scheme. The emphasis of the awards is on peer assessment and group work and they are designed to help encourage young people to progressively take more responsibility in selecting, planning and leading activities that are based on their interests, ultimately leading to them gaining an award.
DYA and YAA groups meet on a regular basis in order to build their portfolios and issue certificates when challenges have been achieved.
All young carers who engage with the project within these age groups have the opportunity to participate in the awards schemes either through their 1:1 sessions with their keyworker or through groupwork.
